We are seeking an individual to continue the extensive research necessary to update our current website and newsletter with information, trends, and issues impacting the delicate Fire Island environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on topics related to Fire Island’s environment, including but not limited to ecology, conservation, climate change, and community initiatives.
  • Take the lead on developing compelling stories and articles for publication on our website and newsletter.
  • Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all research and writing assignments.
  • Engage in outreach activities to the community, fostering connections and gathering insights.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for environmental conservation and community engagement, particularly in the context of Fire Island.
  • Previous experience in journalism, research, or environmental advocacy is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

We are seeking a talented and proactive Part-Time Webmaster to join our team. As our Webmaster, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our organization’s online presence. You will be responsible for managing our website, ensuring its functionality, security, and user experience.

  • Regularly update and maintain website content, including text, images, and future multimedia elements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure website content aligns with organizational goals and messaging
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise, including website downtime or errors.
  • Monitor website performance and implement strategies to improve user engagement.
